How to Register in the Anatomical Gift Program
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is grateful to those who are interested in donating their body, after death, to medical science. The Anatomical Gift Program of the Department of Advanced Biomedical Education, functioning under Mississippi law, is responsible for the procurement, use and disposition of the remains donated to the Medical Center.
To make an anatomical gift, anyone who is 18 years of age or older and of sound mind may give his or her body.
UMMC Anatomical Gift Program requires pre-registration by completing the Authorization for Anatomical Gift and Pre-Registration form. Upon receipt and review of the completed forms, within 45 days you will be notified of your acceptance into the program by an acknowledgement letter, a body donation ID card and a copy of your authorization form.
- The Anatomical Gift Program reserves the rights to accept or decline anatomical gifts.
